Indeed. All my friends either have girlfriends or are on the verge of being married. When that is your inner circle of friends, you have very little chance to meet single people. I ask if they know anyone who is single and they all tell me the same thing. "The people we know who are single are crazy and single for a reason". So, they refuse to set me up with anyone due to this status of being nuts, ha. They don't want me going out with someone who sucks.

What i fear is that due to me being so guarded that before i know it, I'm 30, single, and everyone who looks my way thinks the same thing. "Wow, he seems really nice but he's 30 and no one is after him. There must be something wrong with this guy if he hasn't dated in years."

All i know is there has to be some flaw and i think mine is getting out there outside of my group of friends.

Also, hope things turn out well for you Cagsjr724. It sucks trying to date again. Wish all the best for ya!

Not gonna lie. Less nervous in the bedroom than actually meeting someone new. The thought of actually trying to pick someone up terrifies me.

Dude I understand. Like I said I'm 26 and I have had many one night stands (not proud of it) Its just easier to take a girl home than it is to find a girlfriend at the moment. I've literally woke up in a girls bed and we both agreed not to exchange phone numbers and I'm/she is out the door.

Eesh, you guys are stuck in your own heads...a 30 year old can easily pull a baggage-free girl in her mid 20's.

Baggage free?

I'm not sure that such a thing exists at any age.

What's more important (IMHO anyway) is someone who is willing to work at a relationship and doesn't expect perfection (cause perfection doesn't exist)

But whadda I know? :)

Btw, for all of you 30-40 something's out there who are divorced and don't know where to find a healthy in-shape, intelligent woman; I was shopping the other day and stopped by Tradder Joes for a couple of items. Let's just say I was impressed and not by the produce.

relative term. i meant one that doesn't have a, "so THAT'S why they're still single" caveat.

Wow after a one night stand i always felt guilty if i didn't ask her out again, even if i didn't want to. Almost always did it. But will admit, at times i was relieved when they told me they had a boyfriend or were not looking for someone to date. I had a few bad experiences with that, afterwards i got told off for not asking for her number, like i used her.

All I know is that if I see one more picture of a ring on Facebook im going to be sick. Not that I'm necessarily wanting to get married or anything, but its who is getting married, while I still sit here single.

ha. That is true. My main beef with being single for the holidays is my family is very small locally. And my closest relatives in age are cousins in high school. So I cant really hang otu and have drinks with people, and many of my aunts and uncles are older, so they'll come over, go thru the motions and be gone." I would always have to rely on my significant others family to have a good time on Christmas. its funny, when I was young, my family used to have huge parties on christmas with all the neighbors over. Now that Im an adult, no one does that fun stuff anymore.

Barf.

One night out in australia I met an American girl.. So I was talking to her and it was all good, I asked where she's from, she said philly and I walked away. Made for a funny story but she was kinda hot so I'm leaning towards thinking it was a dumb move lol

Pushing away a hot girl (before I was with my wife) just because of their sports affiliation seems silly.

LOL. "Hey, hon, you knew what you were getting into..." is said about 6,476 times a year at our house, especially during hockey season.

In keeping with the "alone forever" sentiment often expressed in this thread :)

My Christmas greeting to the ToLv3 posters:

The jingle bells are jingling
The streets are white with snow
The happy crowds are mingling
But there's no one that I know

I'm sure that you'll forgive me
If I don't enthuse
I guess I've got the Christmas blues

I've done my window shopping
There's not a store I've missed
But what's the use of stopping
When there's no one on your list
You'll know the way I'm feeling
When you love and you lose
I guess I've got the Christmas blues

When somebody wants you
Somebody needs you
Christmas is a joy of joy
But friends when you're lonely
You'll find that it's only
A thing for little girls and little boys

May all your days be merry
Your seasons full of cheer
But 'til it's January
I'll just go and disappear
Oh Santa may have brought you some stars for your shoes
But Santa only brought me the blues
Those brightly packaged tinsel covered Christmas blues

Oh Santa may have brought you some stars for your shoes
But Santa only brought me the blues
Those brightly packaged tinsel covered Christmas blues
