It isn't.

GTA IV is not as good as San Andreas. That being said, it's an incredible game...don't try comparing it to it's predecessor.

I got F1 2012 as a bit of a change from normal racing (Forza).

My god, it's exhilarating. Take Forza and NFS type games and amp them up to 100. Everything moves so fast. You're constantly trying to gauge how much to hit the throttle and when to brake because these cars go from 0-100 in like 4 seconds.

Even when you play with assists (my dad is terrible, so he needs assisted breaking, traction control and auto shifting (and I play there to make it somewhat close)), if you hit the gas too early or turn too late, you're spinning.

Pretty great game that keeps you paying attention.

I am so backed up on games, I don't know what I'll do. I can't sit on my ass and play all day. 70 more games on the list with new ones constantly coming out is crazy. Shyster, I advise you play the very best off your list, because you're not going to get to all of them. Ever.

I dont think it compared so SA or 3 at all. I wouldnt say it was bad, but i was tired of the series when it came out. I may come back for 6 or whatever comes after 5.

Yeah, 70. They just keep putting games on sale. Yesterday I believe they had both Mass Effect 1 and 2 for something like $7.99. Steam is selling LA Noire today for $4.99 and Sleeping Dogs for $16.99. During the seasonal sales, stuff will regularly be 50-75% off. I can spend something like $60 over the course of the sale and add 10-15 new games to the list.

I also have more than 250 books on my Amazon wish list, and 20+ loaded on my Kindle that I haven't yet read.

hmmm...

I don't know whether to use my xmas giftcard toward Assassin's Creed 3 or Far Cry 3...
The dark horse in the race is Kingdoms of Amalur...

I both love and hate giftcards.

I haven't played the first two yet, but Far Cry 3 is supposed to be a very good FPS. As for Kingdoms of Amalur, I really enjoyed it. A nice RPG with a very good combat system. Had many hours invested in it.

Far Cry 3 is amazing. Kingdom of Amalur is also enjoyable. Haven't gotten ACIII but I would probably wait until that drops in price before picking it up.

KoA will get you more time invested before beating. It is a big world with quite a bit to do. Heck I still have a lot to do and I had probably only 30 or 40 hours already into it.

Far Cry 3 is just a fun FPS-adventure. You can rack up a lot of time in this game as well. After I beat it, I have logged a lot of time in multiplayer doing co-op missions and have enjoyed myself immensely. Preparing a second playthrough using just knife, pistol, and bow+arrow. We will see how that goes.

ACIII seems like it will have the least amount of time required to successful navigate through it. But, I know nothing about it.

If you complete all of the side quests in KoA, you can easily get arohnd 80-100 hours in. Add another 10 or so for each of the DLC packs.

Easily my favorite PS3 game.

If you are into that type of game, I think Dragon's Dogma is another game that needs thrown into the hat.

twc, you played and beat Zelda Twighlight Princess and Zelda Skyward Sword, right?

How long did it take for those, completing close to 100% (not sure if they have a percent tracker)

I don't really remember nan... I haven't played tp in a couple years at least. SS was earlier this year, but don't have my Wii handy to check if it tracked the time.

I know I didn't get 100% on TP anyway. There were some annoying heart pieces I gave up on.

Upon actually taking the time to count the items I have in my Steam library, I realized that my estimate of 70 unplayed games was a fair bit off. It's actually 97.

I actually just finished the final mission on a replay of GTA4 yesterday. Its still fun. I never finished SA but I remember some really cool missions from that game. GTA5 is supposed to have 3 main characters and you actually play as all 3 of them at different points throughout the story and I assume the stories all interconnect and hit you in the end. Bigger than all the others combined? Geesh, I think there IS such a thing as too big, I mean I frackin hate having to drive across all 3 islands in GTA4. I guess its good that you are in an area ofr awhile then go to the next island then go back and then to the third or whatever so it isn't the same map over and over but at times it sucks. I hated the big desert area in SA.

Driving is the best part. Steal a sports car and let loose was fun. One thing I didn't like about GTA 4 was that there was no where to ever just let a car loose for very long. That and the lack of customization was a letdown to me. GTA: SA was an absolute blast that I don't think they could ever repeat.

Spawning a car on top of a skyscraper and driving off was actually really rewarding for me in GTA 4. Man did I love the carnage of a high speed wreck in that game.
