Just watched TED the other night. What a piece of crap movie. I expected it to be a lot funnier. It was basically just family guy for an hour and a half.

Watched The French Connection the other night....great film, great score, great acting, etc.

Spoiler:
Didn't really get the ending...what was the one gunshot at the end? At first I thought Doyle shot the guy and threw his body in the water or something (hence the police never finding him), but then I found out there was a sequel four years later where he chases Alain to France?

That is what I was afraid of. Family Guys style is played out and growing stale.

I think you are the first person I have seen that didn't like it. I haven't seen it yet.

If you put the wrong piece if dialogue into a movie commercial, you can totally squash any urge I have to see it. For instance, Prometheus pulled the old, "there won't be any home left to go back to" - which is soooo worn out. And in Ted's case it was that joke about him sending a tweet.

i know it's a movie that has jokes in it, and therefore is supposed to be funny, but i have seen the trailer a few times, and the only thing in it that made me laugh was halle berry blowing out the blind kid's birthday candles. nothing else had me as much as cracking a smile. it looked like extremely broad, easy humor, which isn't really my cup of tea.

So apparently there was supposed to be a Hong Kong Phooey CGI movie with Eddie Murphy. This along with a Marvin The Martian movie were canceled.

The Yards. Very good. Solid cast that did a heck of a job staying within characters.

doing a cut and paste from another site that I posted this at:

Bones Brigade: An Autobiography (9/10)

If you have no interest in skateboarding or even pre-xGames skating, this video probably isn't for you.

If you were a skater in the mid-80s to the early-90s, you know the names from the Bones Brigade team. Even if you weren't, you definitely know who Tony Hawk is. This video basically sums up how the Bones Brigade (the skate team that their manager Stacy Peralta didn't want the name "skate" or "team" to be used) was formed. Lots of cameos by former skaters, some that were part of the Powell-Peralta team, some that skated the same contests. About 1:40 long, with it being a perfect split of interviews and skate footage. I'd probably say that even the interview parts were split evenly between all original Brigade members.

Docking a half point because of the sudden crash ending. They were talking about how skateboarding went from contests into a worldwide trend, then it was a split second later and it was over with a recap of where they are now.

Docking another half point for the appearance of former Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. He really didn't add anything to the video.

watched Sorcerer last night (title is misleading). What a great movie, I've been on a William Friedkin kick as of lately and this is easily one of his best up there with Exorcist and French Connection. It came out same day as Star Wars and was of course buried by that, which is too bad, I can't remember a movie that had me on the edge of my seat like this one. Group of random "bad guys" have to drive trucks full of dynamite through the South American Jungle. Check it out.

Django Unchained pretty good I liked it cause I like QT movies BUT

Spoiler:
The whole mandingo angle was not needed. They said it in the movie Django's wife was only a $300 slave. All he had to do was ask about a slave that spoke german because he prefers to command N-words in his own language and that he was willing to overpay, say $1000, and I bet Leo's character would've done it without blinking or asking a question. Instead QT created this elaborate ruse that was totally not needed. That's the only real huge gripe I have with the movie. Take your over the top offer premise and use it to buy the wife, it's fail proof, she tries to run away a lot anyway she wasn't a good slave.

I just re-watched "Drive" by Nicolas Winding Refn....which is really quite good.
Are his other films worth checking out?

Is this the Ryan Gosling flick? It wasn't that good IMO.
