Andy Reid met with the Chiefs prior to his flight to interview with the Cardinals. They ended up meeting for 9 hours, Reid never made it to AZ and now says AZ it out of the running. They need to stop letting guys plan their own flight routes to visit them. That is basically the same way Manning ended up in Denver.

They visit, but it's more like when you commit to coming out for your "sorta" friend's birthday... and they want to go to a really crappy bar that's like $9 for a beer. So you show up simply to say you did, snap a picture for proof then haul ass back home to pound a 6 pack and play video games.

With all of the openings, I wonder why KC was his first stop. I know they have the #1 overall pick, but it's not like there's a Luck or RG3 available... and their QBs are terrible. Maybe slightly better than AZ, but woof.

The current President of the Chiefs, Mark Donovan, used to be with the Eagles. Assuming that's a connection with Reid per what I saw. Donovan is the one conducting the coaching search (not GM Scott Pioli).

I guess I could see that... still, doesn't seem like an attractive situation to me. They suck, and while they have the top pick, it is a year too late.

Gino Smith? Not Luck or RG3 but Reid has done pretty well with mobile QBs...

Just throwing stuff out there.

Plus Charles... speed RB that can catch.

Its Geno :pop:

But seriously, ...it is.

But even more seriously, after what I saw the 2nd half from Geno Smith, not sure if this guy is an NFL QB. Once he gets passed his first read, he's done. And the guy is fast, but absolutely refuses to move out of the pocket.

I took a stab at it... and missed.

I'm not saying I would draft him, but there is a lot of talk in Chiefs nation about him. Again, I just am exposed to a lot of Chiefs talk with the SaveOurChiefs thing. They have been talking about it a lot, but obviously it means nothing until they get a coach and a GM and we learn what they want to do.

Andy Reid on the verge of a deal to become the Chiefs new head coach. I thought he would go to Arizona personally.

I honestly thought Reid might end up in Chicago. They aren't a bad team (10 wins isn't a bad starting point), don't have a quarterback issue (except that the one they've got is wildly inconsistent), and already have a pretty solid defense.

Yeah... I wonder what they promised him in KC... I would think Chicago would be a lot more desirable... (assuming they had any interest)

Chip Kelly is likely off to Cleveland. They may suck next year but they'll suck interestingly.

Would Reid want to take Vick with him? (Not great, but better than what they've got)

Scott Pioli being fired paved the way for Reid to KC. Reid was EVP Football Ops for the Eagles, and had final say over the GM. A major point of contention in the local media out here was whether or not he was doing too much and should have the EVP role taken away from him. He's going to go where he has all the power.

Do you think his offense can work in the pros?

Do you think the pros would be willing to run his offense?

Cleveland players better be in the best shape they have ever been in coming into camp next year.

EDIT: LOL @ Cleveland for wasting another #1 QB pick.

Whatever Cleveland did to make God angry at them, it must have been pretty impressive.
