Pitt really let Cincy off the hook in the first half, Cincy can't get shots on offense.

Went to the game today.
So frustrating to watch the 2nd half. Among other things, this team has trouble with free throws and shooting deep.

Pitt doesn't do itself any favors by playing such a weak schedule for the first dozen or so games. I just don't think it gets them ready for the Big East schools. Of course, missing every three point shot sure doesn't help any either. Oh well, long season and they can still turn it around.

..and shooting a blistering 60% from the FT line.......0-10/3-pt and 60% free throws, that's your game ladies and gentleman

every college bball team does this. pitt was the first ranked team that cincinnati faced

Pretty much. It's a Shame because for how we played in the 1st half I thought we were good enough to win the ballgame. The 2nd half came around and they were flat. They didn't rebound good enough, they didn't guard better. I mean almost everytime Cincy had the ball they scored. Also being terrible at free throws didn't help at all.
Yeah it's a long season and they could turn it around but you can't lose home games like that. This is a bad loss.

Some teams play a much harder early schedule. For example, Dule in their first seven games played (and beat) three of the teams that were in the Final Four last year.

For starters, Duke's next 3 months will not be nearly as hard as Pitt's.

those were in 3 preseason tourneys - state farm champions classic, battle 4 atlantis, and acc/big ten challenge. duke is obviously going to be invited to these more than pitt this year since they were preseason top 10

That remains to be seen, but my point is if you play a bunch of cupcakes to pad your record, it does not help you to become a better tougher team. I am just of the opinion that playing tougher opponents helps you become a better team quicker. Pitt was not ready for Cincy today, maybe later on but not yet.

Take a look at Cincinnati OOC schedule. What's the point in wearing yourself down with a tough OOC schedule before going into the Big East portion? You might take some lumps at the beginning of BE play (like tonight), but come April, I think they'll be better with the weak OOC schedule. Doesn't make for much entertainment in November or December though.

Not even 5 minutes into the game and I am already tired of watching Pitt just chuck crap towards the hoop. Not running their sets, not getting the ball in the paint, settling for crap jump shots early in the clock. Woodall is putting on his best Carl Krauser impersonation. Very frustrating start to the game.
Edit: Also, they don't rebound worth a damn.

I hear ya. Their shooting is off and giving up alot of fast break points as well. Good news is they have made three 3 pt shots so far. This is compared to the Cincyu game where they successfully made zero three pointers.

You think they would want to attack quickly and gain an edge early since their on the road.
Guess I was wrong.

Well, hopefully they do better than 62-39 this year.
And by the way... haven't they won 6 straight at the RAC?

If you were a ref, would you make a blocking call by the old hand on hips? Or the exuberant elbows to hips?

Haha looks like it, guess I was wrong. Just seems like it always is tough there, even when they have pretty bad teams.

Wow....13 turnovers for Rutgers so far.
We could be just down by 5, but nah lets miss both those free throws Lamar.
