Who knows, if they continue to make progress today, there's a chance an announcement could be made tonight during halftime of the Packers-Texans game...

I am really currious to see the details on the varience and all that. I was hoping for a very strict cap system.

interesting potential scenario...player A has a long, expensive contract with team A. team A can't afford to buy him out next year. team B has 10 mill in cap space and some extra cash in the offseason to buy players out. would team give player A away to team B for a bag of pucks, and then team B would buy player A out at the end of the season.
an example would be new jersey trading kovalchuk to pittsburgh for almost nothing, and pittsburgh would just buy him out at the end of the year. this specifics of this scenario are NOT realistic, but conceptually, i wonder if something like this may happen.
