I hear he's still in the best shape of his life, any chance the Big Man comes back and centers the Crosby/Neal line? He's still got it in him for 1/2 a season don't ya think? It definitely would bring the fans back in droves.

Anyways, I don't think you will see a true winger for Sid that is a long term solution until the summer. Yeah, Shero could pull off another Neal trade (Would love Benn if he wasn't a RFA) but the chances of that aren't as good as a summer trade. Also, there will be plenty of cap casualties this summer as well and Shero has himself in position to pick up the pieces.

How's Carolina looking cap space wise for next year? If they're close, they might have to buyout Stall... Then we could get Stale back and move him to 2nd line wing with Geno since that worked so well as we have whatshisface as a true 3rd line center. Trading for Igilna isn't a bad idea, since he only has 1 year left on his 7m contract. Anything long term probably isn't a good idea though, since next year's cap is set at 64.3m and after that there is no guarantee it goes up. It may even go down, considering that 64.3m number is artificially inflated in order to ease into the new CBA, and given the sour taste in fans mouth's, I expect league revenue to take time to recover. We wouldn't want to risk being able to sign Malkin and Letang in the near future, after all.

After Iggy's time is up, Bennett will be ready. He is the clear top forward in WB/S right now, and if you don't find a guy in free agency, he could be your guy right now. Tangradi will probably never be a 30 goal guy, but he can probably be eased into the Kunitz roll of a guy to dig pucks out of the corners and make space for his line.
