Well of those 3 they are all restricted I believe.. so no.
One of those 35+ guys like Sykora, Huselius, Blake or Cheechoo..maybe.

yes, those three are restricted. UFA are slim pickings... Jesse Winchester? Huselius? Cheechoo?

Cheechoo can't skate. Huselius has been ravaged by injury and Jesse Winchester isn't really an upgrade over our current core of players. And obviously, we aren't getting restricted stars like Jamie Benn...

Do you put him on a line with Cheechoo and score 200 points with each of them?

He's a winger, but I'm not sure if he's anywhere near 100%. And at this point in his career, I'm not sure that he wants to or can return to the rigors of an NHL season...

They should toss him a lowball, 1 year offer and see what happens, especially since its a short season.

A tryout is as far as I'm willing to go w/ Huselius. Pens are 1 contract below the 50-man limit, so I'd be hesitant to give it to someone with the amount of question marks hovering over him Huselius has.

Interesting read from
Mike Colligan stating that one loophole for teams could be to sign a free agent now, taking a risk, then using a buy out this summer if it doesn't pan out.

I might be wrong, but I believe that I had read that Huselius had signed in Europe for the year... No "lockout conditional" contract, a 1 year contract... Again, not positive, but I feel like I read that somewhere a few months back...

I always hated Jason Blake; he's gritty and has a nose for the net. He's like a less 'supastar' version of Max Talbot. He could be a nice depth addition, but I don't see where we'd have room for any of these guys.

I think we will need to be fine with our forwards. scoring shouldn't be a problem here either with a balanced aproach or stack Malkin's line again. Hopefully Bennet or Tangradi can step up in a top 6 role or Kennedy can with Jeffrey playing a competent checking role.
Defense will see a PK vet. Who do you put out there on the PK? I'm not fomfortable with any of them late in a game. I am willing to bet Eaton get brought in on a cheap deal.

Haven't heard this in awhile. Losing Staal and Michalek hurts, but I'm not too worried about it.

Only 2 guys gone, and more than 2 capable people of replacing them. I don't get the sentiment.

Who on defense do you trust on the PK? Up front I'm OK with Cooke, Adams, Supuis, Sutter, Malkin, Crosby and Kunitz.
But none of the defense have shown to be competent on the PK.

A healthy Orpik, Martin, Niskanen, and Engelland aren't as bad as you're making them out to be, and they're certainly better choices than Mark bleeping Eaton

So having the 3rd best PK in the league is wholly accredited to Staal and Michalek. Got it.

And the worst in history in the playoffs. I'm scared of Orpik, Letang, Martin and Nisky as our top 4 PK defensive players and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
I know everything about the Philly series was a bad matchup. That's all.
