Some may laugh but....Green Day puts on a great show. And Billie is a good showman.

They do. I've never really been disappointed.
Living End/Green Day at Station Square Amp back in the day was my favorite show. Since then I've only seen them at venues that are far too large to really enjoy a concert. Plus none of those openers have a frontman like Chris Cheney.

My friend's band is opening for Parquet Courts at a house show tonight in oakland. I'm going to go...but I'm a little skeptical about going to house show at age 30.

Booking a flight to go down to SXSW this year. My friend basically planned the whole trip, I just have to get down to dallas. Summer of Troy Loney is starting then.

Man, I'm torn on the Black Keys/Flaming Lips show on 4/30. I'm going to Clapton and Fleetwood Mac already that month, but have been wanting to see these guys (Keys) although I'm not sure what they'll be like in an arena setting vice a club/theatre. Have also heard/seen some crazy things with Lips shows, but not sure they will have their normal stage contraptions and visual effects (Wayne inside inflatable ball).

Me, too. The hub and his buds have been to Bonnaroo a handful of times, so I'm hoping he and can go to SXSW someday.
Have a great time, Troy!
(I hope your SoTL includes a Cup celebration. Why not, right?)

SXSW is an amazing event. Both musically and technical tracks.
And Austin, well Austin is the ONLY city in Texas I'd ever think of relocating to.
Travis County baby!

Not to make fun of you... but there's the official list:
http://sxsw.com/music... and then there's the pub crawl.
Some of the best acts can be found in the bars along 6th Street.
http://www.6street.com/Any LGP'ers that want to go this year... let's get together and I'll buy the first round! (You just may have to wear my company t-shirt in return)

Depending on what I do for my birthday (January 17th) and how I feel after having my wisdom teeth removed (January 14th)....
I think I might go see MUSE live @ the Staple Center on the 23rd

Well I can see Black Moth anytime. Honestly I'd be interested in Dawes but the one band is Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears. I don't know....

My friend planned this with his friend that lives in Dallas, he's going to rent an apartment I believe.
I'm really excited about it, i've always wanted to go but have been hampered down with things like grad school, girlfriend, home buying and never looked into it.

Saw Jeff Mangum last night, a friend had to work and couldn't go so I took his ticket. I definitely would have enjoyed it way more 10 years ago when I was first introduced to Neutral Milk Hotel. It was just an acoustic show and he's impressive, but I wish he were playing with a band and it had that awesome elephant 6 fuzzy electric guitar feel to it.
