I don't understand how a someone could not vote for Craig Biggio this year, then vote for him next year. I mean, they're either worthy of the HOF or they're not, the statistics and accomplishments aren't changing.

Isn't it because they love the "first ballot" distinction? Bonds and Clemens will make it next time, they just wont let them have the first ballot.

I bet Bonds and Clemens won't make it next year. Too many voters won't vote for anyone linked to steroids. I think it'll be closer to ten years before any of them get in.

Other players definitely get the "first ballot" shaft. Even a guy like Rickey Henderson didnt get in first ballot, Biggio will get in next year.

I think it's not a good thing that the writers consider themselves judges of morality as well. Clemens didn't pitch against only clean hitters, Bonds didn't hit off only clean pitchers. MLB could have taken their names off the ballot and didn't.

Fred McGriff should have been voted in long ago based on his contributions to the Tom Emanski instructional video series.

Bingo. This will be more and more ridiculous each year. Vote them in, mention it on the plaque if you want, and move on.

I don't know if Biggio will get in soon. Too many people look at him as just a regular star. His longevity is getting held against him. Next year is gonna be tough with Maddux and Glavine both being first ballot.

I think Biggio gets in next year, along with Maddux and probably Glavine.

Edit to what I posted before: Henderson was first ballot, but some voters refuse to vote for guys on their first time around. Henderson was one of the guys who should have been a unanimous vote.

All time hits leader, all time HR leader, and the pitcher who is 3rd in K's and 9th in wins all out.

I think the voters should be made of writers/media, current execs, former players, and "dignitaries" of sort if they don't fall into one of those categories.

How many games did he bet on?

Oh and didn't he bet on his own team?

They are called rules.
