I mean, aside from never seeing your family ever again, I feel like the novelty of being a pioneer on Mars would wear off pretty quickly, and intense cabin fever and boredom would set in. Plus, I can't imagine having to eat freeze-dried food for the rest of my life. And no craft beer. And no Xbox Live. Wow yeah, this isn't even close.
It's the final frontier shad, you have to be prepared to live a frontier lifestyle.
It'll never get off the ground in our lifetime. The privatization of space-exploration is going to be halted and stalled at every avenue possible. Even then only a select few defense contractors in the MIC will be allowed to make very costly arrangements for exploration outside of low earth orbit.
