That's okay though since he's a super lib.
It's amazing that liberal greed is swell and dandy with most of our populace. Al is the worst of the worst. He's sucked the public tit his entire life; the son of a senator, a public hack during his "working years", and a multi millionaire from his ethanol schemes. Should be a charter member in the progressive hall of fame.

I got my first paycheck of the year, and it was significantly lighter. I expected the SS withholding to go up, and it did, however my Federal tax withholding went up as well. Anyone else notice a change there so far? My salary is the same as it was in December...

I want to say that the feds lowered the withholding rate over the last couple years. Less money was being taken out of each paycheck, but the overall tax due was still the same. Maybe that also expired? Does anyone else remember this, or am I just imagining it?

All of my other taxes stayed the same or went down slightly (like 20 cents), including my health plan. Could the higher federal taxes be because the bill was signed early in 2013? Like they collected a prorated amount of tax for the 4 days in 2013 I worked? That would be OK.

I read elsewhere that in several months, those of us under 59 1/2 will be able to convert standard 401(k)s to Roth 401(k)s. This wasn't the case until this new fiscal cliff aversion bill. What it will allow us to do is pay tax on our retirement earnings now, instead of when we withdraw them when we retire. it'll be interesting to see what happens if/when social security goes bankrupt and then they make all retirement savings tax free instead of giving us Social Security.
