starting a new job is a lot of pressure, at this point, I'd think twice about showing up monday. Did they give you sick days?

Be ethical at all times, because you may run into some pressure to be unethical. The organization will disavow you. Don't be afraid to blow the whistle or walk if you have to. Have the FBI's and SEC's phone numbers in your contact list. Accept the fact that you may need to go into witness protection.

There's going to be a group of people that go to the bar after work almost every day. Get to know these people.

For real: Any email you send over the company's network, even if it's from your personal email account, belongs to the company.

Be quiet and observe for the first couple of weeks to get a read on the culture of the place.

If you're working in a rival sports town, then I'd avoid talking about sports, too.
