We had a roller doubleheader outdoors a couple years ago in August for playoffs. yowzers, not the same as baseball.
Playing a SINGLE hockey game isn't the same as a baseball double header

I feel the same about drinking-im gonna DVR the game and watch it at night and get hammered
I spoke with my wife about my dilemma and she suggested why not watch the game without drinking... she cracks me up sometimes.

I love the idea of a home ale on 1/20, regardless of who we play.

i'd be curious what the split is on people who enjoy watching games against philly vs. people who hate it. personally, i hate it. the stress and angst it causes me when things go sour outweighs the relief i feel when we beat them.

I enjoy being in the arena against Philly, but I do find myself ending up more annoyed with Philly games on TV than any other team.

It is stressful watching these games, its the type of game where i usually pace in the living room befor faceoff, i make sure my living room is all set up befor the game, phone next to me, food item prepared, beer cold, kids understand Dad is in hockey watching mode "for them it implies do what ever you want til the game is over" But the emotional roller coaster of watching thoes games of us vs them takes it toll.

Same. Most of you can imagine, as you know the household rivalry situation here. But I knew what I was getting into.
Good thing I'll have 72 hot studly hockey players waiting for me in heaven.

Saw on Twitter last night that the NY Rangers will have their home opener on Jan 20 against the Pens. So much for the home and home with the Flyers.

We probably won't even make the playoffs this year.

I'm kinda borrowing this from Jeff Dunham/Achmed the dead terrorist:
Are you sure you've got that right Lt. Dish? It might be one 72 year-old not-so-studley hockey player.

Just saw on Twitter NHL made a last change to the schedule. Teams will play division teams only 4 times, not 5. Kukla's Korner retweeted it.

So much for starting the season with a cupcke or two (like college football). But then again, we did win the regular season series with the Rags last year, for whatever that's worth.
