Howard Webb is the ref for ManU/Pool on Sunday. Fantastic. Lord Ferg must be nervous if he's breaking out his favorite referee.

Over/Under on when Man U will get a PK?

Which LFC player gets sent off?

There's going to be a sequence where Gerrard gets tackled by Vidic in the penalty area and Webb bravely waves for play to continue. MUFC will kick it long, Ashley Young will fall over with no contact two yards outside the area, and Webb will give a penalty.

So in Blackburn's effort to return to the top flight, Blackburn is on their 3rd coach(reserve team coach is currently standing in while they find a new one) and is in 13th(though only 5 points out of playoffs for promotion. Good times.

Is there anyone in the Pittsburgh area that would be interested in playing in the winter session at PISA? Mens Division B?

I was going to say I'd be up for this, but then I saw they play primarily on Monday nights, which doesn't work for me, since my classes go pretty late that day.

Agh, that sucks. I am trying to put together a team at the last minute. I have been playing the past couple months on a coed team and don't want to stop playing. I just don't know enough girls (at least 2 on the field at all times) to get a coed team, which is probably where I'm better suited given my overall lack of fitness and rustiness.

Yeah, the girls are always the tough part for coed. My coed team usually has 2-3 full lines of guys, and then 2-3 girls.

I know PISA usually has a list of free agents looking to join any random team that you might be able to tap into. They're obviously interested in having as many teams paying money as possible, so you might be able to talk to them and say that you have, e.g., half the people needed for a men's team and they could put you in touch with some free agents to round things out.

Lord Ferg thinks City should give up on Balotelli.

Well, I suppose one way of avoiding bad refereeing decisions is to not bother trying to score. Ugh. I expected a clock-cleaning but this feels worse.

It's pointless. Most of MLS doesn't even care.

It just doesn't make a ton of sense, the top talent in the MLS doesn't normally go through the draft. And the top picks, if they pan out, will be in Europe in 2 years. Certainly there are good players in the draft, but it's not typical of the way a draft like the NFL or NHL works where you build your organization around these players.

Yes, two rounds. Which gives you another clue as to how talent is acquired. These clubs carry 25 or so players, and get only two draft picks per season.

Yeah, I know the league well enough to know how players get onto teams, I figured 2-3 rounds max for that league.
