Plenty of value in a guy that can fight, but only if he can play. With an up-tempo system like HCDBs, it's even more important to have 12 guys dressed that can play. Based on how often he dressed and the minutes he got when he did, coaches didn't trust him with a regular shift. He's very good at what he does and a great team guy by all accounts, but he doesn't fit here. If TOR did claim him, it's not a big loss IMO.
We could use a heavyweight who can take a regular shift on the 4th line....Regular season in the NHL still has a lot of fights and shenanigans....have to be prepared for it...

I agree. However that "regular shift on the 4th line" thing seems to be the issue. That's why Engo will be your 6th D for the forseeable future, as it should be.

This is why I think not keeping Rupp was the only move I've really had an issue with last couple of years.

Mac served a useful purpose in WBS, I guess Veillieux will be back up from Wheeling now as the enforcer unless there's someone else on the team besides him or Mac.

Hopefully the combination of Glass and Engelland will be enough. Or better yet that Tangradi turns into the 4th line heavyweight.
