I live in New Orleans. Will I get the Pens/Flyers or Hawks/Kings? Man I've waited long enough, albiet with millions of others, and I certainly don't want to wait an extra day to see the Pens play live.

Any ideas on which game? Thanks.

I checked my cable guide and at present it only goes out to Saturday @ 4AM

. Although I'm not sure it would have the correct info when it gets gloser to gametime anyway.

I imagine a coverage map will be available later in the week. During the regular season, it is usually up on Wednesday's for the NFL.

I live in Chicago — so I can guess which game I'll be getting. Any idea if this means the Pens will be blacked-out on Gamecenter Live as well — essentially preventing me from seeing them at all?

Probably blacked out, but do they show them on NBC's web site? Is the Yahoo/NBC partnership up and running yet?

I hope you're right DelPen. Because my cable guide has finally panned out to 4PM CST on Saturday and the game broadcast iin my area is Hawks vs Kings.

And that's provided I can set up the feed.

I don't have it in front of me but there was an article I read about how that's pretty much impossible since it would require getting the various cable providers to agree to it. For once, it's not the NHL being stupid.

Man, in Cali here and just checked my directv listings and its kings/Blackhawks. Really hope they play the pens game on one of their 100 other NBC channels.

NBC puts their game's live feed on their website, so if you a laptop/computer linked to your TV with HDMI it shouldn't be a problem to watch whichever game. Given your location, I'd reckon you'll get the Pens game, but does anyone else in New Orleans even know what hockey is?

You actually checked to see if the Pens or Kings were being broadcast in Cali?

My fault for not reading further through the thread. Been a while since posting in here on a consistant basis.

unless NBC changed something on their site they use Microsoft Silverlight as their streaming technology (as opposed to Adobe Flash or HTML5).
As far as I know, only x86 desktop PC browsers and Windows Phone devices can access that. that would mean no ios, android, roku, boxee box, etc
I don't know if nbc sports has any platform specific apps for any of those.

I think we are getting the Hawks/Kings game here in New Orleans because we are geographically west of some of the western division teams (Columbus, Nashville). And to answer your last question...pretty much no. The number of hockey fans in the Big Easy is few to none. And it's my guess that most of those are transplants from hockey markets around the country.

I saw a penguins sticker on an upstairs window on bourbon street about this time a year ago. Then a girl came out of a club/bar/some sort of building wearing only a thong. I tried to stumble into that place, but my friend said that we should go get breakfast.
