I only have a moutain bike and BMX bike atm.

I do A LOT of shopping @ REI though... does that mean we aren't friends anymore?

I have a hard time getting upset over this. He still beat a field of cheaters seven consecutive times, because he is fundamentally a superior athlete. That he doped to remain competitive is just not something I can get all honked up over.

Livestrong has actually raised close to half a billion dollars in 15 years. That's crazy.

It's most likely the contrarian in me, but I have no problem with the guy.

He didn't got caught cause he used advanced doping that they weren't able to detect back then. They tested his samples from 1999 years later and he tested positive on all samples. He also pushed others into using doping else they weren't allowed to ride on his team (despite their contracts) and he and his lawyers intimidated and threatened people who knew too much or talked too much about him. He a big ******* and a cheat.

I couldn't care less about professional cycling, so the doping and stuff is meh to me. However, it is widely thought that he probably would have never been caught/stripped of his medals/investigated that heavily if he wasn't such a colossal A-hole to everyone he knows and meets. His horrific personality is pretty well-documented, and that's cited as one of the main reasons why investigators were so aggressive in uncovering his wrongdoing.

It's fair to say that the French had more than a casual interest in his downfall. I approve. I used to be a huge cycling fan. I was never under the illusion that the sport was clean, but I wasn't prepared for what was really going on. So filthy it even puts capitalism to shame.

What's he supposed to say and do?

The athlete's job is to cheat. The governing body's job is to catch them. That's how it works.

He never tested positive. Not saying he didn't dope, but the governing body didn't do their job well enough and LA made them out to be fools.
