Last time they gave away promotions was when we sucked.

They stopped doing this when bandwagoners came out in droves to buy season tickets, and they didn't give a damn anymore about giving away free stuff.

To be fair, we're going to have posts about how the Pens didn't do enough. It really is lose - lose.

Wtf I highly doubt you'd have 50 threads about them not caring...they haven't cared for the past 3/4 years.

I just find it funny that they suddenly are giving stuff away this season. I don't care either way, even when we used to get 4 bobbleheads/year I'd end up throwing them out.

I will admit the Crosby/Fleury banners they gave away 2005/2006 were pretty sweet though. The rest of it is junk.

I really don't see why they're doing this.

I don't see the Pens needing to do this though, I think attendance won't suffer regardless.

However, in the smaller markets like Phoenix/southern teams this would be vital to bringing back fans.

You may not see the reason for the Pens needing to do it, but they obviously do. Can't help to try and get the casual fan back that may still be somewhat PO'd. The diehards will be there no matter what.

It's a lose-lose though, either way a portion of the fanbase would *****.

I don't know what games you have been attending but there have been this many promotions every single year...there are simply less games so the give aways occur more frequently this year. Just because the season is truncated, the Pens aren't going to turn down the advertisers who want to sponsor said giveaways. Not everything is deeper than it seems...

Just don't mention anything about the Penguins calling for a white out, than being the only team in history making you buy shirts, leading to a weird 50% white out. Because even if you throw the tshirts directly into a goodwill pile, it means you are a complainer and should go to the pirate games if you only go for bobbleheads.

I haven't received one single promotion from any of the games I went to. No mousepads, and especially no bobbleheads.

I guess I'm either:

A.) Drinking too much at the games
B.) Still bitter that we used to receive 4+ bobbleheads each year, and they have since not given one bobblehead

Of course it's not even that big of a deal anymore since I don't have a college desk to line bobbleheads with anymore

hmmm...if you ever get any of this junk this year...and don't want it, I will gladly pay you something and pay for shipping. I tried to get tickets and was unsuccessful. I would love a Malkin bobble...please pm me if interested...
