According to the article, he said that he had 20 years of military service with multiple tours of duty, but in reality only had 6 years of experience and one tour in Korea. They also said that the only reason he was fired was because he lied, not because he did a bad job or anything. Given the source, I still take it with a grain of salt, but it perhaps sheds light on the subject.

it's too bad. dave was great. when he'd get amped up (roping down a waterfall or cutting off an iguana's head) he made such manic movements. i loved how it freaked cody out. and for such an intimidating guy when it came to action he surprised me by seeming to legitimately enjoy cody's lame homo-erotic and fart jokes. and even if he was just humoring him, it came off well enough that it wasn't blatantly obvious enough to be too awkward. he also gave cody a lot of encouragement and compliments at times which i think cody needed despite always acting so stoic after something dangerous.

the new guy has fit in well so far, but he since he's new to the show i think he's trying a little too hard to impress and is treating cody more like a competitor than a teammate in a way

Watched the first couple of episodes of Mad Men. This show gets better right?

I watched the first 6 episodes and found the show utterly boring. I know a lot of people like it, but it was not my cup of tea.

took me a couple to get into it, and IMO it does get better, but it certainly isn't for everyone. It's a pretty serious drama that doesn't have a real fast pace, great acting, great writing, great attention to detail.

Watched the first episode of 1600 Penn. Wasn't that bad, but I don't see the show making it.

Yeah, that's my main complaint so far. Hopefully he will adjust and fit in as well as Dave did. You could see him adjust as it went on and I hope for the same w Joe.

Those were my thoughts as well. It made me lol a couple times, but I could see it getting really stupid, and the bad special effects are a turnoff.

This. Trying to think of a comparable show, but having trouble. It's all about the writing and characters. Like The Wire without the violence.

It's definitely fake. That said, Tickle and Jim Tom are both damn amusing.

Tickle explaining why dogs don't have belly buttons and why the sky is blue was pretty funny. I wonder if he actually knew that or was given the info by the show.

His characters are amazing on the comedy bang bang podcast - but I think the improv element is a big part of that.

I thought I remembered liking it right off the bat, but either way its one of my favorite shows on TV. Knowing the premise of the show going in, I'd think you'd be prepared for a relatively slow paced drama.

Yes, I had to go back and rewatch as at first blush didn't get that impression, as they finished the episode without an epilogue
