Scrimmage Blacked Out on DirecTV outside the Burgh

The scrimmage will be blacked-out according to my DIRECTV app.
Unless you know who to call to correct this we are screwed if you live outside Pittsburgh.

I am tweeting everyone under the sun @PENSPRLADY @PENGUINS @DIRECTV @ROOTSPORTSPIT to complain and ask why

this is weird. i get all pens games normally here. hour north of the city, but we get Y-Town locals...never had a pens game blacked out on me before

Do you get to see the Pens pregame right before the game starts? This is my first year having ROOT on DTV and wanted ROOT to watch the pregame stuff before switching over to Center Ice.

Most of the time you don't even change the channel. You can watch the pregame and the root broadcast all on 659.

Yes....I usually get the regular season games and pre / post games on Root (unless its on national TV)...for some reason the black and gold game is too precious and valuable to broadcast..

Weird. According the regional sports map, I'm in the Pittsburgh viewing area and should receive pens games on Directv. (And I did last year). Don't understand the reason behind this blackout.

I called DirecTV and had a lengthy convo.

I live IN the city of Pittsburgh and have NHL Center Ice, and no Sports Pack.

Lady was trying to tell me that I needed to buy the Sports Pack to have access to the game. That is incorrect, as it is a LOCAL channel that is never blacked out. If I lived out of state, she would be correct. I have NHL Center Ice, but Center Ice is not picking up this game obviously. She kept telling to me check my local channel, "IT IS MY LOCAL CHANNEL!"
