Its a decent team...better than i expected honestly. they arent without their shortcomings, systematically speaking, and i think Dixon lets them run out of their comfort zone in stress-based situations (how their last loss got away from them with poor 3 point shooting in poor shooting situations). i think theyll contend for the conference and get to the 2nd round of the tournament, maybe sweet 16 at best.

dont know how much more somebody can ask for given they arent in the NBA caliber player rankings of college basketball--something i dont anticipate on changing anytime soon.

this is just my random view. dont take it as my hard-pressed soapbox stance.

Well on LGP, people like to take one game and magnetize it to death so it should come to no suprise that were looking at these first three conference games to see where this season will end up for Pitt.

And it won't change because were not that type of program that attracts blue chippers and Dixon like to find guys that will succeed at Pitt but not necessarily in the NBA.

If they do what you say and contend in the conference, make the tourney and possibly making it to the sweet 16 i'll call it a success. I don't have that high of a expectation of this team like others on here may have.

Will a pitt team ever be competent at making free throws? Pathetic.

Funny how the players change but the same problems persist.

Sweet job by Pitt to tie it at the buzzer and pull a no-show in OT. Coincidentally, OT is the only part of the game I saw. :pop:

I was at the game and it was a very disappointing loss. Although having a average shooting game and being out rebounded didn't help at all, I thought the game was loss on the free throw line. Marquette had to of made atleast 90% of their FTs while almost everytime Pitt stepped to the line it was a miss. If we would of made the majority of our free throws we would of won.

Disappointing because it was another home loss and this was in reach win and they didn't get the job done.

Oh well, on to Villanova.

Man when that three went in, the Pete went berserk. Shame they forgot to show up when OT began.

its not a good sign that kenny the kangaroo is more optimistic about football than hoops. the tournament seems like a long shot with 11 or 12 games remaining in conference play.

That was the most frustrating part about this loss. What were they? 13 for 26?

FT misses were frustrating, but the rebounding was more worrisome. And the lack of low post offense continues.

What I have learned from watching Pitt the past two seasons: Dejuan Blair and Aaron Gray were both amazing and despite the high level of praise they received (Blair more than Gray) they were both completely taken for granted.

I'd settle for Ontario Lett at this point.

Pitt was able to resist their natural instinct and win the game. They demonstrated a mental toughness they won't remember they have in March.
