Got back into Lego Batman 2. Played for the first time in a while. Just trying to complete story mode. I'm on the 5th board where I'm at the chemical plant. Still really early into gameplay so I don't know much about the game.

same concept, just a little slower and the selection isn't perfect, but solid. add games to the queue and they ship them to you (they have a distrib center in pittsburgh). keep as long as you want. you have the option of buying the copy you have if you really like the game or want to keep it and get something else on the way. they ship you the box and manuals. after 3 months, you get a 5$ coupon that you can use to buy games and youll get 10% off used games.

I’m pretty sure I own both of those games, but I haven’t played either of them yet. I’ll move them up in the queue, but I still have a while to go with GTA IV.

What is skylanders about?

Well the plot of the first games seems to be you need to travel to different areas of the world the game takes place in to gather different parts of this portal thing that went missing or were stolen.

The game is based on the characters being from different elements which there are eight of. During the course of any given level only certain characters can from a certain elements can unlock areas to find special items and treasures. But you only really need one guy to beat the base plot of the story. There are also certain areas of level where certain elements are stronger the others so in those areas those guys do more damage. There are like 4-5 characters in each branch of elements and they each have different pros and cons. Some have ranged attacks like fireballs or harpoons while some have melee attacks from swords or fists. Some are strong and slow and some are very quick but a lot weaker. You gain EXP points for your guys to level up which in return gives them more hit points. Also you get money from smashing items and finding treasures to buy upgrades to your characters weapons.

The basic combat is either a quick weak attack or hit the other button for a stronger but slower to develop attack. The game can be played in co-op with both players being on the same screen at the same time. And there is also a separate "Battle Mode" where you can have players square off against each other in small areas.

Is it like a more complex version of the golden axe games? FYI I saw on one of those "interesting facts" twitter accounts that all of the voices in golden axe were done by inmates at some prison. Good times if true.

Kind of stupid, but it got me excited. My buddy was cleaning out his apartment and found a complete R.O.B. for the original NES. Said he didn't want it and gave it to me. I have to see if it works, but it got all the spinners and everything. I never owned one. I know it didn't pan out, but for those that grew up during that time when NES first came out, R.O.B. was the face of the NES before Mario took off.

Great it seems the next "Skylanders" type game is going to feature Disney Characters. I bet that ends up being a money pit with kids that are fans of either the Skylanders or Disney.

My original nes from ~1984 came with both R.O.B. and the light zapper(to play gyro mite and duck hunt)....I have no ideas how much that cost back then but it was just about my most memorable Xmas morning.

they come with a portal attachment that you place the figurine on and it adds it to the game.

Made it to Monaco in my F1 Career mode (6th race of the season). Is there a more fun track in the world than this? If so, I've never seen it.

Tecmo Super Bowl on my laptop. Controlling the Steelers we're 3-1 but wow is this team awful. In the game against the Colts i just lost, Bubby Brister had 2 INT's that were about 50yds over the intended receivers head and Warren Williams fumbled TWICE at the goal line. I'm convinced this game gives you the screwjob every once in a while.

Yeah i've been playing through a season in Madden 96. Ricky Watters will not go down at all. Just spin move after spin move. Then head on collision and he runs like 8 more yards and then reacts to the tackle.

From the "better late than never" files, Nintendo has recently added Youtube and Amazon Instant Video channels to their store. Both are free, of course. Amazon Prime members get some content for free, and can rent/buy other content.

What the hell. I played Spec Ops: The Line yesterday. Finished it in under 7 hours. A friend tells me a playthrough is just 5 hours, but that I must have spent 2 hours messing around or looking for the intel (I did locate all and had to replay parts of 3 chapters for missing pieces). That's too damn short.

It's a good game otherwise. I'd give it 4/5. Just based on game, not length. One thing I found annoying - and this isn't the only game with this - is that the enemy guys will do the jerky movements to make it more difficult to aim, I guess. You're aming at the guy's head and there he does one step to the right, then half a step to the left, then you think you got him again, but he moves his head to the side. And so you only get pissed off in the end. I call that lazy AI.
