Black Knight Satellite Photographed By NASA

Postby DocEmrick on Sun Jan 20, 2013 2:44 pm

Most of you probably haven't heard of the Black Knight satellite. For a quick crash course:

- Object was discovered in 1957 with the launch of Sputnik.
- Object is in a polar orbit
- Object was dubbed "Black Knight" by NASA
- Object allegedly contained star map to the Epsilon Bootes star system

Two schools of thought on this one:

A.) It is an artifact launched by an ancient earth civilization containing information about where the ancient civilization went (Epsilon Bootes).

B.) It is a device manufactured by an extra-terrestrial civilization sent here as a message.

Both theories are intriguing. What's great is NASA has been mum on this topic of interest for the past 40+ years.

Recent photograph from NASA, photo was taken down from NASA's website after an accidental posting a couple of days ago.

If its still in orbit, how exactly do they assume it contains star maps? That's pretty crazy

That was a rumor a long time ago, not sure if there is any validity to it. It was the first object in known history to have a polar orbit though., which makes sense as an observational craft.

Some people have claimed it sent out ham radio signals. One person says he decoded the signal to a star map of what the constellation bootes looked like 13,000 years ago.

I found this link....interesting stuff, although of questionable validity.

Doc, if this thing has been in polar orbit for last 40 years, why are we hearing about it again now? maybe I'm presuming its in the news again & you just posted in here?

Side note: The batmobile sold at the Barrett-Jackson auto auction on Saturday for over $4.5M. The guy who sold it was told by an appraiser that he'd be lucky to get $200K out of it. The guy who bought it is putting it in his living room or something ridiculous like that.
