Its a decent team...better than i expected honestly. they arent without their shortcomings, systematically speaking, and i think Dixon lets them run out of their comfort zone in stress-based situations (how their last loss got away from them with poor 3 point shooting in poor shooting situations). i think theyll contend for the conference and get to the 2nd round of the tournament, maybe sweet 16 at best.
dont know how much more somebody can ask for given they arent in the NBA caliber player rankings of college basketball--something i dont anticipate on changing anytime soon.
this is just my random view. dont take it as my hard-pressed soapbox stance.
Well on LGP, people like to take one game and magnetize it to death so it should come to no suprise that were looking at these first three conference games to see where this season will end up for Pitt.
And it won't change because were not that type of program that attracts blue chippers and Dixon like to find guys that will succeed at Pitt but not necessarily in the NBA.
If they do what you say and contend in the conference, make the tourney and possibly making it to the sweet 16 i'll call it a success. I don't have that high of a expectation of this team like others on here may have.
