I'm sure I'll catch some flack for this but for me it is the Islanders. I have been a fan of them (except when they play us) since they came into the league in '72.

I am the black widow of mistress teams.

The only other two teams I've openly pulled for beside the Pens have been the Hartford Whalers (as a big Thank You for Ron Francis and Ulf Samuelsson) and Atlanta Thrashers (played in division against hated Capitals and Hurricanes (see former Whalers from above, plus added points when they employed two of my favorite ex-Pens, Hedberg and Colby.)
After market tickets against the Thrashers were always relatively cheap, the games were fun and up-tempo, and you got a chance to see another all-world offensive talent in Kovalchuk. They also got me great seats for Chris Chelios 2nd to last NHL game in Pittsburgh at age 47.

My favorite player growing up was Joe Sakic. Loved the way he played the game, and had a deadly wrist shot. So I'm an Avalanche fan, and then living in a Ohio, I find myself cheering for the Jackets as well.

depends on the year, usually i end up pulling for whichever team is underdogging in the playoffs, but when the coyotes move to seattle, it'll be them.

Blue Jackets. My best friend moved to Columbus and goes to games out there. I watch so i can keep up with whatever is going on with them. Plus Umberger is from Moon.

The Avalanche and Oilers.

Have liked the Avalanche since Roy and Sakic were there, 2 of my favorite players of all time.
The Oilers this year have really gained my interest, they play such an exciting game and are so talented. It's hard not to root for them.

Always been the Red Wings for me; they're geographically the closest non-conference rival to Pittsburgh, plus I was a huge Steve Yzerman fan. Once I moved out west, I started following the Canucks a little more.
