Just checked out the Caps board to see what they're saying about the game. Basically, some people there want to do Ovie for Luongo straight up.

All for that.

Great weekend for Kunitz to step up his game and start producing, though timing might be more related to Crosby flying all over the ice.

Vokoun is a cool, calm influence for this team.

Would i be correct in thinking they just took their foot off the gas and it ruined them in terms of timing and flow out of their own end? Seems to me they were just clearing pucks to open space and not thinking of the consequences and subsequent turnovers.

Pens played yesterday, Caps didnt. Caps had better legs in the 3rd.

Column A + Column B. Playing yesterday caused them to play in a way that was causing issues. They went into the cliche "shell." Some good saves by Vokoun and some luck with bad bounces kept it from getting too close, but the 3rd period was definitely not one they should study for "how to close out a game." Reality is that the Caps are a bad team so we got away with it, which is fine.

just got back from the game...The game was awesome, pens fans everywhere in our section and surrounding sections. Pens chants all game long as well and it was my first away pens game so it was weird its not loud when the pens score but i love cheering when the arena is silent. Such a fun game to go to and im glad that awful second goal didnt change the game because it was garbage.

the steps with pens fans was awesome right outside the arena. Really fun watching that. There were some crosby sucks chants randomly that were funny because it was immediately countered by " lets go pens " or " crosbys better ".

After one helluva dud performance against the Isles, these last 3 games and victories have been NICE. The efforts weren't always perfect but there was a lot more heart shown, discipline, and some good hockey. Great to see Kunitz come out of his slumber with a bang and Sid starting to look like 87 again.

Anybody else think fat Teddy went home and cried his eyes out? Everybody keeps waiting for OV to "snap out of it". How much longer are the Craps going to wait? I don't think he is going to snap out of it. He is a selfish hockey player who has no concept of "for the team".

It doesn't look like he doesn't work hard; it's just that he hasn't changed since 2005. Same moves, but the NHL has completely trimmed the fat on defensive; that is, there aren't many slow defensemen that you can walk around anymore. Plus, he still has all those little brain farts that used to get forgotten because the Caps could outscore the mistakes, but now they are the issues.

That said, I still think Ovechkin can and will pull out of it.

I'm never good at remembering specifics, but he played well. Created some chances on his own and moved the puck.

He had a solid chance vs Holtby 1 on 0 after a defensive breakdown. He didn't score, but the Pens scored immediately after. Malkin's line wasn't as noticeable as Sid's.

As of now, he's an obvious upgrade to the alternatives we've seen so far.
That's about all that can be said....and I mean that in the most neutral way.

Is he better than, say, Cal O'Reilly? Probably, but we shall see.
