Too many freakin dumb penalties.

Sitting him to appease Lovejooy's ego is quite another thing, however.

I would say this is growing pains that will slowly fade out. His upside is very rewarding as we can see and by may he should be playing at another level.

I'm okay with both of Despres penalties tonight. The first one he went down to block a shot and forced the guy wide. The dude just happened to skate into Despres stick.

The second one was ticky tacky for sure.

That shift he scored is why you have him in there. Just brilliant.

He's the only one who can hit the net. Him and Bortuzzo

No reason for either rookies to sit.

Engelland. Not that he deserves it, but Despres and Bortuzzo are playing like they mean to stay. I'd actually rather DB go with seven defensemen just in case one of the rooks are having an especially off night.

When was the last time we had a rookie, much less two, that was not a top two draft pick play like this? These guys have been great. I love what I am seeing with them and am certainly willing to take some of the growing pains to help them get to their upside faster, especially in a shortened season.

I love that Bortuzzo is stepping up and earning his time. I've been calling for him to be in the lineup since the first game and was irate that he was being scratched so much. I kept saying that he's exactly what we need in our bottom pairing.

...and I love it because he's a hometown boy, one of many.

I'm sure Engelland can play the 4th-line grinder.

Easily, the goal in which Daypray got caught out of position, made a great recovery, but the player slid it across... right through Letang. That goal is more on Letang than it is the kid.

Agreed, that's just a horrible play that your apparent number 1 defenseman can't make. I was pretty upset with that one.

Well that's a different story. We still have a week or two until that happens. Gut says Bortuzzo though.

Was this a test, FC? :D In the box eleventy-seven times? Two Isles goals in rapid succession? The asteroid was headed straight for us, man.

GDT juju beamed to the PK... averted disaster.

But now we're exhausted. Please don't make us work like that again.
