And maybe Letang and Niskanen will be back by then.

Announcers say Despres was injured late. I didn't see it, but if he did get hurt this is getting ridiculous again.

Actually I think the Devils are pretty effective at the same style the Pens played when HCMT was canned and DB took control.
You mean when they were 10 points out of a playoff spot in February?

I would love to know how Chicago is undefeated in regulation with Crawford and Emery in nets

Kewl, looking forward to another fun thread once Sneep gets recalled. Along with Phil Samuelsson.

After DB took over, the cup year. Before they became so impressed with themselves.

I've not been disappointed with Sutter, even while adjusting on the fly to the berserk season...

Didn't they trade Sneep?

3.5 GPG and only 2 GAPG, I would assume.

Amazing how the Devils do this year in and year out.
Every year it's the same thing... Marty's 100 years old, they lose Gomez, lose B. Gionta, lose Parise... they're not dead yet...

Yeah this place is crazy. I remember back in the day when most people saw the same thing in the games with minor nuances. There are so many different contradictory yet "factual" statements about players, plays, coaching, systems....exhausting.
The Pens have three players right now that can create their own stuff - four when Letang is healthy. There will be tough nights.
Ideally they could use at least one more forward who can create offense on his own.

Definitely a game when we could have used Staal... or some contribution from our depth. Staal made Kennedy and Cooke better players for sure. Now Kennedy and Cooke are being seen for what they: bottom 6 players. But it was definitely nice to have a 3rd line that could produce. I think playing Boychuk with Sutter might be a good way to add some offensive vision and puck control to that line. It's not like Kennedy-Sutter-Cooke is a dominant defensive shutdown line, so putting Boychuk there isn't going to change that aspect.

Actually I think the Devils are pretty effective at the same style the Pens played when HCMT was canned and DB took control. They are probably the hardest working team in the league too. I guess you can call it boring but they won damn near every battle for loose pucks all night.
NJ outworked the Pens in the second period and that's why they won. Pittsburgh needs to match their work ethic and they will prevail, because they are the more skilled team. At some point this season NJ is going to go through a long losing streak. They can't keep playing that way all year with games in such a short time frame. It will catch up to them.
