Is there a team out there that can fit a poor skater in that has slow foot speed with good straight away speed? Can they also fit in poor hands and the inability to utilize his size?

Yup, he's got 2G 0A in 12 games for the Jets. Claude Noel doesn't seem shy about giving younger players a shot, so I wouldn't be shocked to see ET get a look in Ponikarovsky's spot on their 3rd line with Burmistrov and Wellwood (?).

True. It's really impossible to disagree with this point. 10 million in space is over 30 million in deadline space too, and don't forget how many top defensive prospects we have right now. We have more than in previous years for sure. Pressure is squarely on you, GMRS.

So many circumstances ride on a real deadline type deal that people are expecting here. First our defense prospects will most likely only get us an upcoming UFA. Even teams out of the playoffs are not going to drop a top 6 forward for a package of prospects unless there is a reason (financial or impending free agent).

Even our really good deals (Neal and Hossa) had some pretty good circumstances working in our favor including those guys all but guaranteeing themselves out of the team they were playing on.

I expect a busy deadline, dont get me wrong. But not sure we can pull off exactly what we need.

I think we do, just not any people would be happy to see traded. Letang, Niskanen, Bennett, Morrow, Despres, Maata, Kennedy, and 1st round picks are all "tradable assets" but everyone wants to get something for nothing these days.

The key here is Ray has reduced the roster down to 22. He has an open position. Either Bennett is coming up soon, or he is preparing to bring in a player. Otherwise the roster clearing move wasn't necessary, when you could have kept him as a trade throw in instead.
