Good luck Eric!

And Shero must be pretty good, if he can get top 6 forwards from Stanley cup winning teams, as "throw-ins" to deals. ;)

Hopefully you find your way within a system that suits your ability a bit better.

Unfortunately, no team plays in slow motion these days.

As a Penguins hockey fan... Good riddance.

Is there a team out there that can fit a poor skater in that has slow foot speed with good straight away speed? Can they also fit in poor hands and the inability to utilize his size?

ponikarovsky found work

Yup, he's got 2G 0A in 12 games for the Jets. Claude Noel doesn't seem shy about giving younger players a shot, so I wouldn't be shocked to see ET get a look in Ponikarovsky's spot on their 3rd line with Burmistrov and Wellwood (?).

Burmistrov and Wellwood are too fast for ET to keep up

Perhaps, but if memory serves me correctly there wouldn't be a huge difference speed-wise between Ponikarovsky and Tangradi.

So how much cap space do we have now over 9 million? If we cant/dont make a move now or at deadline the fans will be restless.

So the Boychukians rejoice as the Tangradites gnash their teeth... mark my words, Tangradi will come back and scorch the Pens, just like Luca Caputi. :pop:

With Tangradi gone and Martin playing well, Tyler Kennedy is the only player left to make that massive trade for Iginla. :scared:

Wow, teams are really playing a premium for scoring line forwards with 1 goal in 45 games these days aren't they?

This is a weird year - it seems like everyone was approached on a "make-or-break" basis.

Sneep, Strait, Lovejoy, and now Tangradi all gone for absolutely nothing.

Jeffrey is next

Jeffrey will be if he doesn't produce. He is also approaching that point in his career where that little stint before the knee injury needs to be duplicated or better yet, improved upon.

The other three at least brought another 18 year old into the organization that at least has hope. None of those guys are going to amount to anything but role players and they had no role here.

After 3 incredibly disappointing playoff runs in a row, with 10 million to spend and a number of holes to fill....this is the most pressurized trade deadline of Shero's career.

True. It's really impossible to disagree with this point. 10 million in space is over 30 million in deadline space too, and don't forget how many top defensive prospects we have right now. We have more than in previous years for sure. Pressure is squarely on you, GMRS.

We still don't have the right assets to do a big trade deadline deal. Prepare for some disappointment folks.

Yeah, RS needs to be called on some of this, his scouting and player development guys stink. They have a bunch of could be Dmen prospects and other than bennet no real forward or goalie prospects in six drafts.

So many circumstances ride on a real deadline type deal that people are expecting here. First our defense prospects will most likely only get us an upcoming UFA. Even teams out of the playoffs are not going to drop a top 6 forward for a package of prospects unless there is a reason (financial or impending free agent).

Even our really good deals (Neal and Hossa) had some pretty good circumstances working in our favor including those guys all but guaranteeing themselves out of the team they were playing on.

I expect a busy deadline, dont get me wrong. But not sure we can pull off exactly what we need.

I think we do, just not any people would be happy to see traded. Letang, Niskanen, Bennett, Morrow, Despres, Maata, Kennedy, and 1st round picks are all "tradable assets" but everyone wants to get something for nothing these days.

Meh. I'm sad he didn't pan out, but it was time to make a choice between Tangradi and Boychuk, and Boychuk won.

The key here is Ray has reduced the roster down to 22. He has an open position. Either Bennett is coming up soon, or he is preparing to bring in a player. Otherwise the roster clearing move wasn't necessary, when you could have kept him as a trade throw in instead.

This isn't true. He had plenty of chances to show something... Anything that would've showed that he deserved more playing time and he failed over and over again.

WPG turns around and deals Ponikarovsky to NJD for a 4th + a 7th. Sounds like Tangradi will take his spot on the 3rd line, and from WPG's perspective they basically moved Ponikarosvky for Tangradi + a 4th.
