I have yet to have a Pirate as well. Thought about going Hanson over Russell (not that I could have anyway), but wouldn't have done it.

Hansen and Polanco are so far away from the majors and have so much more to prove. not sure why people are up in arms about those picks

I just didn't get a sense that anyone thought they were going off the board too early. I think its close to about right. Maybe a 15 pick reach or so.

This is where I am at. I should have a couple, if not more, prospects losing eligibility this year. I want to restock the players with guys who are a few years out.

What was the trade? The only trade between you that I saw was the exchange of first round picks

LITT... that was already done by me. You were originally at 7 rounds, but I increased you to 9.

I did make one change though - since you traded Freese for a prospect that was drafted by somebody else, you will start the year with 21 prospects (and that's fine), but without an additional draft pick you wouldn't have enough MLB players.

So a pick was added for you at 18.2

Again, the draft order is set before the draft and can't be changed... any additional necessary picks as a result of MLB-for-Farm trades go to the end of the list.

The reasoning for that is if you execute a trade that requires you to make extra picks, why should you get to jump in front of all the other picks that were pre-set?

Numbers recap: you started needing 6 MLB and 3 prospect (after the Sale/Phillips trade). You have made 7 picks - 4 MLB and 3 Prospect. That would leave you needing only 2 more MLB picks. But since you traded Freese, you need one extra MLB pick.

Since that trade was during the draft, not pre-draft, that pick is 18.2 (as opposed to 10.1)

Edit: this is confirmed by your Google doc. You've got 19 MLB and 21 farm right now, you just need 3 MLB (8.1, 9.1, 18.2).

If I trade a farm player to someone, do I pick up a pick at the end of the draft to fill out my farm?

I was under the impression that you would not. I don't know what Mr. Colby is doing now though. I feel that you shouldn't, but I'm confused by what just transpired in this thread.

Same here. I just figured any roster filling out that needs to be done because of trading during the draft would be via free agency. Otherwise you're adjusting draft numbers.
