This might sound a bit too much like Pavement for my liking.

I think it's pretty great.

Show is sold out for this Sunday in Chapel Hill. A friend manages the venue, but I don't want to ask for a favor unless someone can vouch for this tour...

What a horrible Bonnaroo lineup. Minus McCartney.....

Meh...I'd rather see Weird Al at Stage Ae then some farm in Tennessee.

Alright...besides Petty, McCartney, ZZ Top, Weird Al, and Portugal The Man, its still a crappy festival.

Oh, I'd definitely rather see the acts I mentioned in an actual venue. I was just naming bands/groups I'd want to see.

Bonaroo? Out of that whole list, there's six bands I might see. Half of those bands would be based on what others have said about past shows. I figured there might be an old band buried deep in the Bonaroo setlist that I might have overlooked, but there's nothing.

I don't get all the complaining about the lineups at big festivals. thinking about bonaroo and coachella getting ripped on in this thread. What bands do you expect to be playing these festivals? I look at these lineups and it's basically all the bands that have put out albums that have been well received in the last couple of years.

So basically all that you are saying is "i'm not into new music". Which is totally fine, but it seems redundant to me to complain about a new music festival when you don't like new music.

How about the dulcet tones of Swans (early 80's):

I don't remember them having that sound. I thought they were more a lot more mellow.

You probably heard the Jarboe era Swans. Here they are at their most brutal:

I read somewhere that a whole genre of metal grew out this era Swans ('84 - '85).
