Ramirez makes $31 million over the next two years and hasn't hit well for the past two. He's also a pretty terrible shortstop. Sounds like just what the Pirates need. And why in the world would Ramirez bat leadoff?

Hanley Ramirez epitmozes the player the Pirates should never bring in. He could single handedly destroy that locker room. He'll fit in better in LA with all those other personalities.

Cole gave up a hit in his 2 innings of the intra-squad scrimmage today. Bust.

Pirates are unbeaten in spring training. Plan the parade. El Blimpo didn't strike out in either of his at-bats today.

I was checking out the map yesterday and I am only a 6 hour drive from Bradenton.
Can't do it this year, but spring training is on the agenda for 2014.

If they say Contreras is 41, he could actually be mid-50s

McDonald only walked one batter in 2 innings. Hopeless has a 2-run HR.

Neil Walker struck out twice. Ivan DeJesus had an RBI single. Ditch the yinzer hero! Brad Hawpe had a 2 run single as well- he's totally going to be the starting RF, right?

Baseball Prospectus top prospect list. Pirate notes. Gerrit Cole ranks as the top pitching prospect...ahead of Bundy (that's different). Taillon also really high...odd list really, Hansen made it Polanco didnt.

Second year in a row I believe that the Pirates have the toughest starting schedule in the NL. Coincidence, I'm sure.

The quotes coming from Dopey and JCon indicate this is more than a minor league deal.

I'm not sure how a minor league deal can be anything more than a minor league deal.
