If you're seated at Tyler kennedy's table, expect your food to wind up all over your chest.

It was a lot of fun and because we were stuck in the back corner, we actually had two players as waiters. We had Nils Ekman (who was hilarious and gave me crap for not eating my salad) and Sergei Gonchar. They learned our names, chatted with all of us, and they were really nice. The autograph session before was a mad house (pretty sure it's not set up the same way anymore), but we managed to get everyone to sign my shirt. Don't count on getting Sid or Geno as your waiters...it's definitely fixed.

That’s because the rookie forward, participating in his first-ever Skates & Plates event, was pranked by his older, wiser teammates. They told him to bring his hockey skates to the arena, as the name "Skates & Plates" meant he would be serving the tables while gliding around on the ice.
When we asked Bennett about it, he said he actually wouldn’t call it a prank “as I really thought we were going to be skating and serving the food to all the fans.”
Continued Bennett, laughing, “I thought they were going to bring our skates over and we were going to be skating on little aisles in between all the tables. So I was trying to get in the right mental state to do that tonight.”
