I'm pretty sure everyone is facing something like that.

that is irrelevant. my point is that this is a rule that we were 'definitely not' considering before the season (likely because no one wanted to deal with it at the time) and now we are trying to put a band aid on it

Its not irrelevant. Because it will affect everyone or nearly everyone the same way, it is not unfair to apply the rule across the board.

I think LITT has a pretty strong point. He relied on something he was told in making decisions, but now the rule is changing.

exactly. i was supportive of a rule change but it was already communicated that no change would occur. if we take this to a vote and everyone agrees, i am supportive of it, but i think it is incredibly short sighted to make this change at this point in time.

Yeah, the question should be as everyone acted/not acted based upon the prior statement. If teams have acted in reliance on that, then all of the discussion seems irrelevant. LITT's claim to reliance seems reasonable, so I'd say the prior statement that there would be no change should hold.

Prior to the 48 game season, my drafting was based on an 82 game season. Had I known that it would be shortened, I'd have drafted differently. No one thought the lockout was going to happen or last into the actual season. I don't see the difference.

I had a similar issue where no one wanted to address it, so I bit the bullet on a rookie pick that was my mistake. If we are band-aiding stuff, I'm going back and taking Fasth.

Thank you Nabokov for starting my week of right! 7 goals against!
EDIT: I'm pleading no contest on the rookie issue. I have only 1 rookie worth his salt this season (Hamilton), so I don't have any decisions to make. I don't think Tangradi is worth a rookie keeper spot any longer.

Was that Kraftster deal straight up or picks as well?
Not sure who Sean is...

I say no rule changes on the rookie keepers. A bunch of guys will expire next year, but it's guys that should have expired this year. I don't see why we need to adjust games played, cause then we're getting into a situation where maybe a guy played 20 games last year and 25 this year. Do we weigh those 25 games by some number to determine if that player loses farm eligibility?

No, based on Hammer's proposed rule, they would still be a rookie. The idea of amending it is that if a player plays the majority of this season, its safe to assume they would have played the majority of an 82 game season as well.

I'm close to doing it anyway. Interest in fantasy sports is rapidly dwindling. I'll probably keep getting into my money football leagues, but I don't think I'll ever join another new league otherwise.

As for the rookies, I think we need to keep what we decided on earlier.

I thought we decided before the season that we weren't modifying the number of games played because it was a shortened season? I must be remembering something wrong

After some hiccups the first time around. My team is on the block. Not really interested in trading Eberle or Brunner (rookie). Other than that, I will move whoever for the right trade. Mainly interested in getting some goalie help, picks, and younger guys. H Sedin and/or E Staal available.

really hoping that Nash and Skinner don't get concussions tonight, and I realize that's a lot to ask.

Are you in the football league? I'll trade Marshawn Lynch for your Hockey team.

Do you have both of them? Can commissioner force a point for that?
