While kenny the kangroo will openly admit to being a self loathing yinzer in many cases, this is not one of them.
This is a case of stiller nation coming down with a common symptoms of yinzer-itis: Being stuck in the past and oblivious of the big picture.
Stiller nation still has notion that flacco is an overgrown oofus doofus that routinely gets terrorized by james harrison and troy polamalu. that was true five years ago, but its not the case now.
The big picture is that when a quarterback wins a super bowl, they get paid. Eli got paid, Rodgers got paid (although not $100 million), Ben got paid. Brees got paid. Now flacco is getting paid.
like it or not, the ravens have one the afc north each of the past two seasons. like it or not, flacco has a 10-4 record in the playoffs. like it or not, he was the super bowl mvp. like it or not, he was dominant in the playoffs and beat tom brady and peyton manning. and thats why he got paid.

87.7 QB rating, 21st in the league
59.7 completion%, 22nd in the league
238.6 yards per game, 16th in the league
3817 passing yards, 14th in the league
7.2 passing yards per attempt, 16th in the league
22 TDs, T-15th with Matt Schaub and future Hall Of Famer Carson Palmer
Notice a trend? A lot of stats from the middle of the pack or lower. The only noticeable stat where he is in the top is sacks, which his 35 sacks puts him tied for 8th with Ryan Tannehill and Sam Bradford.
If the Ravens want to tie up $20m a year until 2018, then that's their call. Personally I think it's a foolish move, but as a Steelers fan I don't mind seeing them wrap up that money into a second-rate QB. He's got paid for a great playoff run, nothing more.
KennyTheKangaroo wrote:bringing up stats to show that flacco doesnt "deserve" the money is also foolish, because quite frankly, stiller fans have been whining about how the media has slighted big ben because ben does not put up gaudy stats.

3. Romo
4. Rodgers
5. Stafford
6. Ryan
7. Brees
8. Kaepnick
9. Brady
10. Dalton
11. Schaub
12. Ben
13. Peyton
He's somewhere in a mix of Luck, Wilson, Rivers, Newton right now
aka.. completely middle of the road starter

and I've also said in the past that Ben was overpaid, but that's for another thread.
You seriously think he deserves $20m?
