Looks like the problem is that they're in such cap hell, that cutting Harrison, Colon and Kiesel wont help much anyway. They keep exasperating the problem by renogotiationg Woodley, Timmon and Roethlisberger every year, they're in this situation for the forseeable future.
Nothing has really worked out for them recently, and cause of that they look they're on a downward spiral. Losing Lewis and Wallace sucks, but the real problem in my opinion is Heyward and Hood being middling starters and the overpays on Colon (wtf), woodley and timmons.
They're basically in a "cross your fingers" and hope mode for the near term. But, you'd think it would be a given that guys making a lot of money would be good and also that first round picks would be atleast competent starters. So I guess if you trust the front office, you can trust the possiblity of a comeback season next year.
