You enjoy getting racked in the balls over and over?

Very fun game to watch between Real Madrid & Man U so far. Very offense-oriented.

Real controlling the play, but Man U giving some very good counter-attacks.

Not sure how much I enjoy Gus Johnson commentating this yet.

Gus is surprisingly decent. I usually find him annoying but he's generally not sounding like he is clueless.

The amount of defense played in this match has been minimal, which is just as God intended.

De Gea is so good at stopping the shots.

Now if he could learn how to handle set plays.

So Gervinho just missed another very good chance, and the commentator says, "A player of his level has to score there." Is he familiar with Gervinho's body of work? His level is that of having enough speed and skill to get in great positions to score and then blowing them in mind-boggling ways.

Riverhounds tickets on sale

The new stadium definitely makes it more appealing to go to a game or two this year.

Clear handball on the first goal, but Barça was simply too inept and confused to do anything useful.

Agreed but after the iffy (in my memory) PK's Messi got last year in the Camp Nou i'll take it. I'm just surprised they managed 2 goals with 27% possession.

Jermaine Jones with the big goal for Schalke today.

Weird to see Drogba in orange and red.

Great comeback by Pool to make it interesting. If Rodgers weren't giving Carra a retirement tour they'd have advanced.

Odd to see ManU have a terrible call go against them in Old Trafford. Lord Ferg's going to get a thousand penalties in his next match as the FA tries to mend his broken heart. Worst part of the red card is no one's going to call out Ferg for treating Real Madrid like they are QPR and starting the game with Rooney on the bench.

I just caught the second half during the replay on Root, and I couldn't believe Welbeck was on instead of Rooney. I'm no great fan of Real, but I'm glad to see Man U out. I've also liked Modric as a player going back to his Spurs day, so I was glad to see him score a sweet goal.

Poetic justice it was a former Spurs player to wipe out Man U's lead yesterday considering Nani's antics vs Spurs a few years back. Karma.

Could not put it better. I had no interest in the game, but you never want to see an official deciding games. Replay is a luxury the ref does not have and he is trying to make the call from his angle and perspective on the play. Maybe from where he was standing he didn't see Man U's player watching the ball the entire time, maybe he was watching the Real player come in and get a flying boot from nowhere?

It was a weak call, but it wasn't the worst call I've ever seen; but it's significance was exaggerated by the speed at which United turned a manageable though adverse situation into an utter collapse. Had that call occurred in the box and Madrid given a penalty as well as a sending off I'd have more sympathy; but united could have seen out the last third of the game or could even have conceded a goal and played for penalties.

All this bleating on about the call smells of Bryan-Murray-esque whinning to me. Why is no one talking about how the hell Modric was afforded so much space in such a dangerous area? Surely 10 men were sufficient to get in front of him.
