"All three periods" my butt.

Bylsma's "extended look" equates to "We'll give you two mistakes until benc......wait, is your name Engellend"?

I like the kid a lot. Good for him.

Beau Bennett wrote:"We get to play hockey for a living," he said. "That's the best thing [about being in the NHL].
"We grew up loving the game, and I still love the game. It's just very fortunate to be able to play for your livelihood."

I think this would be an appropriate time for someone to go on a rant about how ungrateful and overpaid hockey players are.

Is Bylsma finally getting it? Now just stop bouncing Despres & Bortuzzo in and out of the lineup and give them a chance to grow.

If they're following the same arc as Letang for Despres, be prepared for him to sit a few here and there down the stretch.

No, DB doesn't get it. Some blogger will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that either Mario or Shero or canaan's Mom was behind DB's one and only reasonable decision this season.

We know that Kunitz works on that line, and I have mistakenly stated that a banger/crasher with skill is what that line needs. However, I think that if the line gets to know and trust Bennett, there are other ways it can be effective. I'm certainly rooting for him and hope he doesn't learn the bad penalty habits that Malkin & Neal seem to fall into.

I don't think so. They're quickly approaching the deadline and need to find out if Beau will work or not.

Bennett has great hockey smarts and can be the two way player on the line. They don't really need a banger per se but Bennett is certainly not soft. He's been strong around the net and comes out of corners with the puck. That will keep getting better.

Now is the time to figure out the holes they need to fill. If Bennett can stick and complete that line that's one less part to overpay at the deadline. Cooke and Jeffrey are versatile enough that they can move into top 6 roles, Sutter could also with even Vitale moving up a spot and Adams shifting over to center too short term.

Good thing is Bennett can physically play a top 6 role where tangradi didn't have the Stamina, Jeffrey doesn't have his speed back and Boychuk didn't have the hands. Cooke is better suited on the 3rd line.

I don't think anyone expects anything more than solid two-way play, not being a liability on the ice and eventually scoring.

As is the decision to sit Despres. It's not all on Bylsma, as people have explained.

Something Tangradi never got.

Really would've liked to see a Cooke - Sutter - Tangradi line before they traded. Just give the big Bodies of Sutter - Tangradi 10 games to gel and see if anything was possible. Its completely possible Tangradi wasn't ready for the top 6. Maybe ever? Possible, sure. But we will never know as Pens fans under Bylsma. They should have traded that kid 2 years ago and probably could have got a 3rd.

I hope Bennett does well.

Oh please, get over it. Tangradi got more than enough chances to prove himself. He didn't. Not even close.

lololol Tangradi didn't deserve any more of a chance that he got. He proved it here and is proving it in Winnipeg. He has a goal and 4 assists in 55 career games. He hasn't had a point in his last like 15 games. He never showed any progression at the NHL level.

He just doesn't "get it". I'd be surprised if he scores 50 goals in his whole NHL career.

I'd be surprised if he scored 10, let alone 15.
