Pheneuf Crosby is one damn good battle.

Brent Sutter used to have to step in at Team Canada WJ practices because these two used to take it too far in drills. They were THAT competitive.

Is that six turnovers for Malkin in the first period? Honest question

That being said, just a solid period from forwards to the blue line. Great team defense, cashing in on rebounds, love it

Oh for christ sake. Did you see his behind the back pass assist on Martin's goal?

Yes Malkin turns the puck over, but he also does amazing things. He's allowed to F up. :scared:

Well gee, that was a little unnecessary. I'm well aware of the amazing things he does.

Pens are outshooting Toronto 13-5. They had the puck for roughly 19 of the 20 minutes of the period.

I liked that period. Thought we played pretty well all things considered at even strength, really controlled play. Fourth line is getting pucks in deep, the third line is handling some quick, shifty players like Kadri and Frattin and the blueline...Kennedy has disrupted 2 or 3 good rushes already...Crosby is working real well tonight...Fleury playing the puck well, especially when the 4th line is out there, good awareness by him - he doesn't want them to get pinned back in their own end so he helps diffuse the opponent's forecheck with some simple puck playing...great job by him to help his own cause.

Very good period here I felt...

Engelland lookes totally out of focus in the shift, where Colton Orr was on the ice. Thats the risk with having a D-man as enforcer!

Great first period minus the pk and pp. Whoever came up with the bright idea of using Glass on the faceoff of that pk needs punched. Right after a tv timeout that's who they have take the faceoff?

Now can they keep it up in the second and third? Hopefully. This is the way they need to play all game, every game.
