They weren't just losing to the "tougher opponents."

Looked like Rask was about to put the wood onto his own guys as he was going to the bench. Took them over 60 seconds to get the goalie pulled.

Lucic is a big dumb animal. I'm pretty sure Julien just gives him commands and pays him in shiny objects.

Lol...spot on. I noticed that about Rask too. He was like, "Get your asses down ice!!!!"

I don't think we are "Peaking Early", I see the team finally meshing and learning to play with their new linemates.

The Malkin line looked like it was finally about to soar and he got injured again

the notion that they are peaking early is just as silly as assuming that they would be bad defensively for the rest of the year. NHL seasons are full of highs and lows. this is a high. enjoy it. then remember not to freak out when it comes back around the other way.

this is to no one in particular. certainly not to pfidc who is pretty level headed. i just thought it needed said.

Peaking too early is what the Blackhawks did. This team is just finding their game.

This team isn't peaking if that makes any sense. They are merely solidifying how to play a complete game. Look at the last 4 games. 4 goals...

I would give more credence to the idea if they were merely playing for the streak and just doing everything they could to win, regardless of how well they played. What i mean by that is during this streak, they haven't gotten sloppy or tried to outscore teams like last year. They have actually gone the complete opposite direction. They have tightened things up to such a degree that if you give them an inch, they take a mile.

This style is sustainable and nothing like the 12 game streak at the end of last year. During that streak, we all saw the obvious flaws and knew heading into the playoffs that team had major issues.

Another big win against a tough opponent. Solid job by all 5 Dmen when Kristopher went down. Bennett just keeps getting better and better in all 3 zones. Dupuis in Chara's grill every shift...gotta love it. Keep it goin boys.

Man, sucks that this team is playing well now. They should mail in the games for another two weeks before they start playing well. Fire Bylsma.

Was it really 26-23 in faceoffs? Felt like way more their way.

I guess another way that this game felt like the playoffs. I held my breath on every shot the Bruins took. And it was REALLY close. I still don't know how the Seguin wrap didn't go in.

I dunno, I hear the Caps have someone who likes to play physical hockey. Bylsma doesn't want Despres to crack a nail.

Actually...I'm of the mind that some tinkering is needed to make a run (not a ton though). But anyone who is ready to break out the ky jelly and rubber gloves over a 9 game winning streak....

With the way the Pens are playing, they can rotate the other 7 D and sit Letang until henis completely healthy.

I'm pretty pleased with the Pens performance today. The Broons are no slouch and would not be easy team to get past in the playoffs.
