Kes stayed out, inherits lead. Looks like he is running away. Most of the lead lap took 2, several at the end (mid-teens) took 4.

Hamlin has no patience for Logano, who, while trying to pass Gordon slid in front of hamlin twice. Hamlin punted him. After the race, Logano comes after Hamlin and the crews push a little. Hamlin responds to a Fox inquiry of what was said by saying "He said he was coming for me. I don't ever see him, so it's usually not a problem."

Quite the irony to Denny's statement, given that Logano finished in front of him.

Meh. On the radio, Hamlin said he was super tight in the final run and Grubb relayed that he crunched the nose on the restart that Kes spun the tires making him aero tight for the rest of the race. That's why he rode the wall for 5 laps.

Yes.

The feud soon spilled over to Twitter, where Logano posted, "Hey @dennyhamlin great job protecting that genius brain of yours by keeping your helmet on." Hamlin retorted with "Why's that ... what would u do?", prompting @joeylogano to reply "Show you some love and appreciation." Hamlin responded, "Need my address?" And then: "Last time I checked he had my cell and direct message button to choose from if he's got a problem ... Otherwise hush little child"

Both sound absurd. First, Logano got "pulled" away from the fight with very little resistance and before Denny was even out of his car. It's not like Denny got out and refused to fight. Second, Denny is the first to go to Twitter to air his laundry, so it's pretty hypocritical to call Logano out for using Twitter. Hopefully Logano dumps him at California and we can go on from there instead of having a season-ending Kenseth-Vickers style feud.

I think this recent publicity will be good for him. He's the only driver to make the Chase in every season of his career, and one of two (Johnson) that has made it every year it existed. He had the points lead going into the 2010 finale, and won the most races that year and 2012. He's very, very good, but he is super average in terms of popularity.

mixed pit strategy late at Cali.

80 to go, the 88 had lug nut trouble that dropped him from 3rd to 21st. Made it back up to 9th twice.

more late cautions. Lots of bonzai moves on the 30 to go one, then Mark Martin spins. Inside line was dead weight, saw the 88 fall from 9th to 16th. Stayed out when others pitted, restarts outside line in 14th. Hamlin pits again for lost lugnut.

Stewert/Logano/KyBusch fighting for lead.

wow.

Best final laps lately. Hamlin chasing down Logano, Hamlin gets into Logano, they wreck in turn four, 3-4 of Kyle Busch and Earnhardt finish 1-2.

22 got into the 11, and the 11 got into the 22. I fault both for this - had they put last week behind them, maybe they avoid contact. But I think both decided come hell or high water the other one wasn't going to win.

Terrible hit by the 11. Don't' wish that on anyone. Seen Jr take a real hard hit here back in 02, when he got clipped by the 29 of Harvick when he was diving to pit road.

he was close there for a while. I get the impression that this team will manage several wins this year. Perhaps as soon as Martinsville or Richmond.

great charge by the 78 overlooked as well. Initially scored third, they've moved the elder Busch back to 5th, scoring Logano 3rd and Edwards 4th.
