Go RMU

Postby JeffDFD on Tue Mar 19, 2013 9:52 pm

Just beat Kentucky in the NIT. Haha wow. I am sure Kentucky didn't even want to be there, but huge win for RMU.

What a great effort and great game by the Colonials! I bet that place was a sweat box inside of the Sewall Center

Landmark win... Kentucky could play RMU 100 times and win 100 of them. That's how you get recognized...

I have no ties to RMU other than my old office was right down the road from campus so I know where it is, and I semi follow their hockey team, but I am thrilled for them. Great win and I was rooting for them a few years ago when I think it was against Georgetown they got hosed in the first round of the NCAA's.

However, be prepared for all the "Kentucky didnt care" crap because they are used to being the favorites.

Villanova and they were COMPLETELY hosed.

That's a great win for the program IMO.

John Calipari... class act.

Those are the only words that come to mind after this. Great win for RMU but i think i became an even bigger Calipari fan.

Right you are, Ken. I remember texting people right after that game how mad I was. And they were confused on why I cared, and so was I

That's funny.

I'm really happy for RMU.

ESPN really upset me earlier today. First off everyone knows ESPN is a joke and they only care about what Tebow ate for breakfast and what LeBron said on Twitter. ESPN decided it was a good idea to make fun of RMU. They said UK sells out more from 1 home game then RMU does all year in the Sewall center. RMU is 6k student body, why would they need a 23K stadium? It was just a stupid ignorant comment.

I have mixed feelings about Calipari and his one-and-done freshman players/cheap national championships/scandals/etc etc...but he did say some good things.

It's crazy how much I hate/love RMU at the same time though.. ugh

CBS Radio had some sound byte basically saying the same thing, about how small RMU is, and how it wasn't fair to KU because they were the 1 seed and had to play on the road because their home arena was being used for March Madness. On most years, if Kentucky put together a B team of recruits that didn't make a team, they would more than likely beat half of the teams in the NIT even if they were a 1 seed on the road the entire time.

It didn't happen last night.

Deal with it. :)

Nice to see a local college basketball team that can make their free throws, especially when the game is on the line.

Cal was very classy during the post game. Really happy for RMU. They have put a lot of effort into their athletic programs between the new stadium, D-1 Hockey, and the success of their Men's BB program, it's nice to see the hard work paying off for Bobby Mo.
