As a Butler fan, I listened to Brad Stevens on the postgame. They had two plays called in the huddle on the last play; one for man, and one for zone. Marquette changed who they put on the in bounds pass, and the players read that as zone, bit is was actually man. The play was to run Clarke around a screen into the corner and inbounds to Smith at the top of the key, and make a hand-off / screen to Kellen Dunham to take a potentially game winning 3. The pass was caught about 3-4 feet too high, and Smith's stumble threw off the timing of the play (plus the defense was man). After the stumble, the Smith heave was all that was left. Looked pretty ugly.
