So Joe was a key member of the WBS penalty killing.
Will he ever get a chance with the big team?
Vitale has scored some big goals, have excellent speed and his effort is superb.
Also he is great on face offs which are key on the PK.

Is it really fair to scratch Vitale and let Glass play?
I have not seen anything from Glass that merits him playing while Vitale is scratched.
Vitales skating ability should make him a better choice for an aggressive PK unit than Glass/Adams?

Defensive zone faceoffs are huge, and Vitale wins a ton of them. He has one of the best faceoff % in the entire NHL. That, in my opinion, would make him a factor on the PK. Glass and Adams are two anchors out there, and I don't mean that in a good way. Put TK on the 4th line with Vitale and scratch either Adams or glass. Actually if I were RS I'd trade Glass for a bag of pucks and get Hendricks. But there's a lovefest for Craig Adams, even as he gets older and slower. He was totally shot last season and they still brought him back again. Don't know why. His "veteran leadership" is not needed with Iggy and the 10 other team captains they have now.

I'm hoping next year he gets a key PK role. Hell Bylsma has dressed Jeffries in Joe's place on the 4th line. Hard to figure

The more I think about it, we should now be able to go without one of Adams or Glass and let Vitale play. We have gone into the playoffs before with 4 penalty killers (Staal, Cooke, Dupuis, Adams) and could do it again, substituting Sutter for Staal. Duper's minutes should decrease 5v5 and on the PP (did he even get any before?), so he can add minutes on the PK. Sid can also kill more for us.

The speed of the team worries me a bit with Eaton, Engelland, Morrow, Murray, Glass and Adams.

I really don't see Glass fitting in the lieup as is.
