Morrow with Malkin/Neal

Postby Stevens25 on Fri Mar 29, 2013 7:53 am

Short sweet and to the point

Morrow looked really good with Malkin and Neal. I haven't seen a top line Penguin park his rear end in front of the goal (outside of Crosby) all year. I really like Morrow on that line, but I doubt he will remain.

Interesting...I have seen Penguins park in front of the net all year. Morrow is certainly better at it than Kunitz is though.

Really? I see Kunitz on the side of the net. Morrow was fighting for position, sitting directly in the middle, screening the goalie, and causing a complete raucous. It really looks like it plays well when Malkin does his whole, i'm gonna skate around the entire offensive zone move.

I see Kunitz fighting for position in front of the net most games. He doesn't do it every shift because thats not what that line does, but on the powerplay he does it constantly.

Looks like we're gonna go back and forth on this one.
On the PP sure, but every PP unit has someone in that position. I'm talking on Even Strength.

I think the top line is doing just fine without a bet front presence.

Morrow will stay with Malkin and Neal, Dupuis goes to the third line eventually.

Speaking of Kevin Stevens. Did anyone see him at the game last night on the tron? I bet he is happy that CEC has more seat room than the igloo.

I will say there's a notable difference between Kunitz and Morrow. Kunitz always has to work for it. Morrow seems to just camp there.

Murray has one hell of a hard shot. Just throwing that one out there.

Murray said last night that if he had a good shot he'd have a lot more goals. It was enjoyable. He's a defensive/tough guy d-man to the max.

Morrow was driving Big Bad Buff crazy infront of the net all night. Kunitz goes to the nets more than the OP gives him credit for.

His NHL on the Fly interview was kinda funny. He said that he needs to not over-think his playing, because then he gets slow, and he doesn't need that.

So I missed the game on TV. Listened to Mike Lange on the radio. How did Murray look last night? Was he better or worse than you thought? I know the first game in a new system can be tough on Dmen.

Thanks

I had Francois Leroux flashbacks last night. Murray skates like kids on my son's mite team.
