Iginla is gonna be RW on the line with Malkin and Neal since Neal used to play LW and Iginla will be in the top 6 no matter what.

I'm totally in love with Morrow and i have already accepted this. I just want Morrow resigned so next year we get a whole year of Neal/Morrow/Geno terrorizing the league.

Also, the Pens aren't breaking up that top line. I could see Bylsma throwing Crosby, Malkin and Iginla out there all at the same time though. Jesus...

If Iginla reallly, really, really wants to stay, maybe he'll take enough of a paycut to do so. I don't see it happening.

I thought Morrow looks somewhat lost and slow last night, especially on the rush. And a few times he was not expecting that pass from Geno. He did have some nice opportunities to score. I think he will "get it" soon enough. I think he was standing in front of the net more out of "I don't know what to do, so I will go here" than it was his actual game plan. Geno and Neal were buzzing about 100 miles an hour in the offensive zone last night. I think as he gets comfortable, he will have more fluidity to his game similar to Kunitz.

Murray look slow as molasses trying to get back on D a few times. And made a couple errors looking for that hit to woo the crowd. But, pretty solid all evening. The forwards, especially line 1, made it easy on the d-men last night with their puck ownership. The shots from Murray were a very pleasant surprise. He's got a friggin cannon!

Line 1 was so beastly last night it should be illegal!

Can't wait to get Iginla in there!!

This. 100%. Not like any of our Dmen are that accurate anyway. Watching the pens cycle it and seeing him blast it was entertaining.

He just missed on 2 shots. One went wide by about 6 inches (according to Errey) and the other deflected, landed on the ice and just scooched wide by an inch or so. Loved it!

If we re-sign Bortuzzo for $575k, the D and Goaltending are set, taking up $23.532mil. Leaving $40.768mil left in cap space available for the forwards:

87 $8.700
71 $8.700
18 $5.000
12 $4.500*
14 $3.725
16 $2.067
10 $2.000*
9 $2.000*
19 $0.900
27 $0.600*
46 $0.550
? $0.575
? $0.575
Trade Glass and his $1.1mil...

Total: $38.892
Leaving $876k cap space

Yup all straight legged. Its fun to watch people bounce off of him but I wouldn't want him defending a Marty St Louis breakaway lol

Nickname has to be Dump Truck, no? Make it so, Steigy.

One thing that was absolutely clear last night was how much Neal missed Geno.
They have some unreal chemistry with each other.

I think Iggy with be with 71 and 18 and Morrow drops to the third. Which is fine when you think about how much havoc 24 and 10 and 16 could cause.

There's no way we lockup Morrow and Iginla. It's gonna be one or the other.

I've also come around to the fact that Morrow is going to the 3rred line, not Iginla. We're going to limit Morrow's minutes and use him situationally a lot, so it will be OK.

Kunitz - Crosby - Dupuis
Neal. - Malkin. - Iginla
Morrow - Sutter - Bennett/Cooke
Adams - Vitale - Bennett/Cooke

It will be interesting to see how this off-season goes. However it shakes out, the Pens will be loaded with stars. Just which stars is the question.

Even if Iginla would sign for only 4M per year and Morrow & Dupuis would sign for 2.5M per year, its impossible to keep them all.
Unless we dont sign Cooke,Kennedy, trade Glass.. But Cookie I would like to keep. I think its reality that we sign Duper,Brendan and Cooke.

Pretty much my feelings.

This team, currently constructed would command a cap hit of 74 million. Lol, they would need to shed 10 million of that.

The only way the Pens sign Iginla is if something goes horribly wrong with keeping Letang, IMO.

I think they could keep both Morrow and Iginla, but both of them would have to leave some money on the table to stay, and they'd have to let a couple other guys go, such as trading Niskanen to open up cap space and parting ways with Dupuis. Letang factors in heavily too, as he could be traded this summer like Staal was if they can't agree on an extension. Whether or not they win the Cup also figures to factor in. It's all too early to say, but in the end they probably will be able to retain a pretty good chunk of the current roster, but not all of it.

I'd be ecstatic if they kept everyone save Iginla. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for them to keep Iginla, but I figure he would be the highest paid player not currently under contract, so...yeah.
