an addendum... what was our 4th line in 2009?
point being, or line-up has so many options
Craig Adams and his 24 games played would disagree
For the most part though it was Dupuis-Adams-Satan with some Sykora and dressing 7 D a few games I think until Gonchar was 100%
Crosby and Malkin were not double shifted as much as you might think. The issue we have now though is penalty killers. Dupuis and Adams got most of their time on the PK, Satan just plugged away and looked like he was having fun doing it, exhibit A:
We could have a similar 4th line now with Glass-Adams-Kennedy with kennedy doing whatever he's asked, which he will gladly do, and Adams and Glass (ugh) as PK specialists.
2009 had Staal, Cooke an Talbot in the top 9 forwards, we have Sutter, Cooke and Dupuis. Adams has to stay int he lineup, can Crosby, Vitale or Morrow replace Glass? I think anyone can play better than Glass but I'm not an NHL coach so what do I know?
But until we see Bylsma trust anyone more than Glass to kill penalties he won't be scratched either. So we get Kennedy, Bennett, Vitale and Jeffrey fighting for the last spot on the 4th line. Should be good.
Too bad we can't have 5 lines. Bennett-Jeffrey-Kennedy would be interesting
