He's still on the morning show. Not gonna lie, sometimes he sounds extra slurry in the morning.

I haven't posted on LGP in forever but I had to come here for this.

I don't listen to sports radio unless I am stuck with someone else who has control of the radio dial. On Monday, I was getting a ride home from work from my dad and he had 970 on. David Todd kept calling Douglas Murray "Douglas Murphy." Repeatedly. Then he had Rob Rossi on - Rossi emphasized "Murray" a few times but apparently Todd did not notice.

Last night I was over my parents' house before the Pens game. David Todd was on the radio again* and still referring to him as "Douglas Murphy." :face:

*side note: I think I've mentioned this before but my parents have a weird sports radio obsession. I did not inherit it apparently.

Todd was referring to the Presidents' Trophy as the Presidents Cup earlier today on Penguins Live. I don't think he is that big of a hockey fan.

I like Stan Savran, Mark Madden, Tim Benz, and Bob Grove for my hockey talk. The media in this town probably like any town is a joke.

He's not, he's a diehard baseball guy (he's a frequent contributor over at Bucs Dugout).

Speaking of Bob Grove, a listened to that hour show he hosts on the X on Saturday mornings. Very informative and entertaining.

I don't expect or want every sports talk radio host in Pittsburgh to be a hockey fan. However, I do expect someone who has their own show to at least know the names of the players involved in big deals like this. Shame on him and even more shame on his producers for not correcting him - it comes across as sloppy & unprofessional.

Never thought I'd say it but I actually miss Bendel. I'd turn on his show occasionally during breaks on the Fan/X and I'd listen to it exclusively after 6 PM because I can't take Filaponi. David Todd is unlistenable. He knows the Bucs and Steelers but that's where it stops. Not sure what he knows about Pitt.

Yeah I heard that, that was pretty good. Like the part where he mentioned ESPN ranking the top 500 baseball players and only three Bucs made the list.

Savran is off today and some guy named KC Bartholomew filled in for him. I turned him off after 15 minutes. He kept mispronouncing Iginla's last name (kept pronouncing it e-ga-la) and then saying that the team record for the longest winning streak is 20 when it's actually 17.

I happened to catch that, too .. guy never ID'd himself .. I had no idea who he was/is/whatever .. but came across as clueless.

As for Vinnie-Cook animosity being staged .. by comparison Madden-Colony = almost completely staged ... Vinnie-Cook = almost completely real

I liked Chris Muller back when I'd hear him maybe once a month late at night. Now, his propensity for tying everything in all sports back to basketball is about to make me shoot my radio.

I watched the Nightly Sports Call last night for the first time in a while, and half the calls were pranks. Does this happen often?

I have seen that too. I think that show lost all credibility when Madden left.
